Hungarocamion
Hungarocamion is the leading provider of road haulage services in Hungary. Acquired through a privatisation in 1998, Argan team members worked with Hungarocamion’s buy-in management team to recapitalise the company's balance sheet to support a full renewal of its ageing 1,100 truck fleet. Organisational changes, including the outsourcing of maintenance responsibilities to Volvo, facilitated a reduction in headcount and realignment of the company's revenue and cost base.
The renewed fleet was equipped with an advanced track-and-trace system which was integrated through an ERP system allowing management to optimise asset efficiency through improved route planning, increased backload utilisation, and reduced operating costs. These initiatives transformed the business from a poorly run state controlled asset into a world-class logistics partner of choice for the increasing number of multinational clients entering the region. The company was sold to Volan Tefu in 2002.
